New Year Resolutions- Love them or hate them
I always struggle with crafting new year resolutions. Looking at the past list makes me feel more underachieved. Here’s how my last list looks like:
Be happy – How to measure?
Be Closer to God- Checked: Baptized, served in Drama Ministry
Be more family-oriented: Checked: been bring folks out for a meal bi-monthly
Travel more- Checked, Checked, Checked: Been to HK, Taiwan, Bintan, Bangkok, Pattaya, KL *beams*
Looked for a more fulfilling job that pays better – I am nowhere to a new job but they promoted me. Does that count?
Save more- Failed: all savings goes to trips but bought insurance and endowment plans
Lose weight, lose weight, lose weight- Uh Huh
Right, I shall do what the Guru says. All goals must be SMART. Business students, don’t we hear that ALL the time. Goals should be Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Results-oriented and Time- specific. With that in mind, I sketched my tentative Resolution
To leave my present company by June/ July and the next paying job must have 20% increment (2 years plus in this company is enough and in search on what is out there. We all know that events burnt us out like crazy)
To go to 1 expensive overseas trip that is approximately a week and 1 short trip by end of the year
To increase my savings to 20% of salary. Maintain a spreadsheet for expenditure worksheet and be very discipline to update it weekly. Decrease taxi spending (found out that it takes 10% of my salary. *GasP*)
To go for one Mission Trip and commit in serving on of the Ministries. To be discipline and keep a journal of QT
To lose 5 kg in a year- plan to sign up for Amore. (Oh no, unbudgeted expense!)
Moisturize more
